Homework #1--Rachel Knapp

1) CATEGORY OF MY BOOK: My book falls into the ESCAPE category because it’s Epic Fantasy following the “Save the Cat” trope of Institutionalized where the main character must choose to either join those in power, or destroy them. Because of the YA Fantasy genre, it’s an escape into a vastly different world PLUS the reader knows in advance the protagonist will be victorious against the EVIL villain—hee hee hee.

2) In a world where giant demigods rule a vast empire, a teen raised alone in the wildlands discovers she is the daughter of the emperor. When she reunites with her family, she is horrified by their cruelty and must make an impossible choice.
