Homework #11

Some of my answers here are a bit thin. I will keep brainstorming!

How do you plan to use urgency to motivate people to buy your book today instead of tomorrow?

I plan to use pre-order bonuses. Not sure what those will be just yet, lol, but I’m quite far from publishing so that’s okay.

How do you plan to use scarcity to make your book more valuable?

At first I was very resistant to the idea of doing Kickstarter (because I personally don’t really like them), but I might do that and have some tiers with limited spots. I like the idea of the signed and numbered hardbacks.

I also think something like a “Book club bundle” as a limited-spot tier on a Kickstarter would be fun. Like, buy 10 books, and I’ll attend a Zoom meeting with your group to discuss it. Maybe also with other stuff in the bundle.

Or, I could still do these things just through direct sales and not Kickstarter.

How do you plan to make your book more ubiquitous so that it is more available?

Probably price pulsing. I’m also working on a prequel novella that I might make permafree…if I decide I like it enough for it to be canonical XD.

How do you plan to use social proof to make your book more popular?

Not sure…I don’t really have any social proof yet. Are short story awards allowable?

How do you plan to use anchoring to make your book look like a bargain?

Probably different versions of the book. So comparing the hardback to the paper back to the eBook.

How do you plan to show authority?

Probably with a quality reader-magnet so they can “see for themselves”; or maybe a permafree book eventually.

How you plan to throw a banquet for your readers?

I want my email newsletter to be fun and valuable for my readers. I hope to give them useful, interesting emails that they actually want to read.
