HW # 11 Kez Sharrow

How do you plan to use urgency to motivate people to buy your book today instead of tomorrow?

Give an irresistibly good bonus (still to be thought of) to readers who buy the book in launch week.

Later on, lower the price for a limited period of time and advertise that.

How do you plan to use scarcity to make your book more valuable?

Maybe print a limited number of hardcover books with pretty covers.

Sign a certain number of copies.

How do you plan to make your book more ubiquitous so that it is more available?

Make an ebook and audiobook.

Work as hard as I can to make it available in different regions (e.g. Amazon Australia etc).

When book two is out, make book 1 free for a limited time.

How do you plan to use social proof to make your book more popular?

Not sure. Enter for awards? Work hard to get reviews.

How do you plan to use anchoring to make your book look like a bargain?

Make the list price at the higher end of the range for my category and discount it.

Compare the price of escape to a tropical island (with sea dragons) to the price of an international vacation?

How do you plan to show authority?

Consistently offer good value in my newsletters, keep reviewing other fantasy books there and start a blog doing that (if I dare. I still haven’t jumped off that cliff yet, though I’ve been hanging around looking over the edge for a while now).

Make everything (the book itself, cover, website, all copy) as high quality and entertaining as possible. Stick to the genre.

How you plan to throw a banquet for your readers?

Hmm…need to pray and think about this. I love this idea and am praying for my readers and to be able to love and serve them well.

Work on adding maps, artwork of mythical creatures, interesting blog posts and short stories to the website, and making them available to newsletter subscribers. Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s great ideas! 😄
