HW #11 - Kim Megahee

I was in catch-up mode for yesterday’s homework. Life got in the way.

Here’s my homework assignment:

Homework

Once you answer the following questions, don’t forget to paste your answer into the course community.

How do you plan to use urgency to motivate people to buy your book today instead of tomorrow?

Very interesting and informative topic.

I have a backlist of 5 stories, so price pulsing seems like a good strategy for increasing the sales of those books.

For my next launch, I think I’ll use the “hit the best-seller list” along with a bonus. I’ll have to think about what bonus to give. Right now, I’m thinking about an exclusive webinar, but I’m brainstorming about what else I could do.

How do you plan to use scarcity to make your book more valuable?

I’m considering a Kickstarter campaign for my next book, with the idea of including a signed, numbered hardback edition.

I’m considering making the first episode of my TIME PATRIOT series perma-free. The obstacle is that it’s signed up for Kindle Unlimited, and I believe I have to terminate that to go wide so I can make it free elsewhere and induce Amazon to make it free.

How do you plan to make your book more ubiquitous so that it is more available?

Create Audiobooks for all my eBooks.  My very first book is now an audiobook as of 2/29/24. The Time Patriot series is in production.

How do you plan to use social proof to make your book more popular?

·       I plan to change the bio on the back cover to mention both series that I have written, and

·       Put links to my other books in my eBooks and QR codes to my other books in my POD books.

How do you plan to use anchoring to make your book look like a bargain?

Best thing for me I think is to compare the cost of the book to the cost of similar entertainment experiences.

How do you plan to show authority?

I think I’m already on the right path. I’m working to establish myself as a writer of time travel thriller adventures that are wholesome (except for a little swearing) and the good guys win in the end. All of my books are along these lines.

How do you plan to throw a banquet for your readers?

I’m sending out a newsletter twice a month. It includes a short humorous or interesting story and some book suggestions.

I’m working on my reader magnet, which is a prequel to all my books.

I’m working on some other eBook nuggets to give readers as a prize or a gift.
