HW#11 Ted Atchley Psychology
How do you plan to use urgency to motivate people to buy your book today instead of tomorrow?
Launch bonus. I could offer a prequel short story, and then later make that available to new subscribers. I’m also part of group of authors who writer similar books to me and I could ask them if they would be willing to let me bundle their books as a bonus.
How do you plan to use scarcity to make your book more valuable?
Signed and numbered hardbacks seems like the best idea.
How do you plan to make your book more ubiquitous so that it is more available?
Audio book with royalty sharing.
How do you plan to use social proof to make your book more popular?
Start small and focus. I have two fans who really loved my first book. While I only know these people through our online interactions, I will be asking them to beta read my next book as well join the launch team.
How do you plan to use anchoring to make your book look like a bargain?
Compare the price of my book to a movie, a month of Netflix/Disney+, a greeting card and a cup of coffee from Starbucks.
How do you plan to show authority?
Confidence.
Endorsement.
“See for yourself” – sample chapter? Reader magnet.
How you plan to throw a banquet for your readers?
Free novella (again this is my reader magnet).
Making sure my email newsletter is valuable and interesting every time.
Book recommendations in my genre, specifically finding books that my Timothy will love and are similar to my own.
