HW#16 Wam: Change and Momentum

So, you might have noticed that my name has changed. The momentum of my pen name (Willamette Sutta) can’t be changed, so it must be the other way around. As Thomas suggested, I’ll embrace and use it. Wam is the nickname I’ve always envisioned, and it sounds a bit like my real name too. Sorry for any confusion.

Onto the last homework: Three post-launch ideas

  1. Once B&N finally approves my vendor status, I’ll try to get an in-store promo at a local store. They say that would be possible after I’m approved. I applied over a month ago and the approval is in an infinite loop of pending. They said it would be slow, but this seems excessive. I’ve contacted them with no reply yet.

  2. I’ll look into book-signing at a public library. One of the local ones will have an author expo in September, and I’m planning to sign up for that. Incidentally, that was where I met CJ Milacci and first heard about Thomas’ podcast last year. No plan to indie publish then as I waited on query rejections. With my first book launched last month, the rest is history.

  3. I’ve contacted my University’s alumni magazine. The announcement is notable because my audiobook narrator is also an alumna. They will feature us in an upcoming edition.

There’s other stuff to explore, and I’ll continue to work with my wonderful launch team. There are possible social media and YouTube interviews coming, as well as book reviews. All are blessings far beyond expectation from the hand of gracious God.

I’m so happy to have taken this course and met so many of you. You’ve become my brothers and sisters in words. I hope we can continue the journey together.
