HW#2 for Thomas - Claudia LeBoeuf

What exhausts me: Social media, dealing with Wordpress (even through Divi), and extemporaneous speaking definitely exhaust me.

Why do readers choose other authors/similar stories: I have never self-published anything, and my debut novel comes out in 2025, so I don't have any experience of people picking other authors or similar stories over mine.

My strengths: A quirky sense of humor and a fairly broad knowledge of a number of disciplines (science/technology, economics, world history/current events). My writing skills have come a long way. I'm good at developing deep and unique characters and analyzing the world to find deeper meaning in things.

Who is your target reader: Not necessarily Christian, but conservative-type fans of somewhat satiric adventure/scifi who want something 'clean' (no erotica, no graphic violence, no woke). The perfect reader appreciates economic/political/science details embedded in the story/world, but knowledge of these areas is not required. People who like both Jane Austen and sci/fi would be perfect I think.

What does your target reader read currently: These books don't entirely fit into my 'clean' category for one reason or another, but they do fit my motif: "A Memory Called Empire" (Arkady Martine) builds a very believable world which includes a lot about the politics and economics. It was actually very well written, other then the woke nonsense that didn't need to be there. My favorite is "The Pride of Chanur" (C. J. Cherryh), which, like mine to a certain extent, looks at the human race through alien perspectives. I recently read two books by Daniel Schwabauer which have a satiric, high world-building quality to them similar to mine (I liked "Maxine Justice" best but "Operation Grendel was pretty good too). His books are totally clean with a Christian message but not overtly Christian.

Why do they read books? Don't know.

How to thrill them: A brilliantly crafted world, witty conversations interspersed with fast-paced action.

What does my writing allow readers to say about themselves: I live authentically.

What tribe do I want to connect to with my writing: Homeschoolers, thinkers, people who don't just accept the status quo.
