HW#3 John Hundley

Some great principles here. Very valuable session.

Fiddle with your phone’s settings for 10 minutes.

What feature did you find that most delighted you?

●       I only fiddled with one and it was scary. I set it to unlock my phone with my fingerprint. It didn’t work. Luckily, I was able to use the backup pin method to get it unlocked, after which I cancelled the setting and went back to watching the videos. Yep—bad example.

What is your biggest technical fear?

●       Right now, it’s building my website.

Which method or methods do you plan to use to manage it?

●        Focus on the power.

●        Love; embrace the mission

What about technology are you grateful for?

●       I would never be able to write if it wasn’t for a word processor. Most recently, I discovered the <Read Aloud> feature in Word, which has made my pass through my first draft of A Verse for Witches much more thorough.

●       Google has helped soooo much in my research on medieval technologies in writing my epic fantasy.

●       Near instant communication over the internet is the only way I’ve been able to build a network of other authors.

●       And I would never have been able to publish without the advent of the Kindle and print on demand technology.

Which backup solutions do you use?

I’ve been doing manual backups. I’ll start using the cloud backups provided by Windows that I’ve been resisting for so long.

Which password management system do you use?

●        I have a file where I keep all my passwords, and many are duplicates. I’ll look at the suggested options and make a choice.
