HW #3 - Timothy Benefield

Fiddle with your phone’s settings for ten minutes. What feature most delighted you?

I’ve already poured through most of my phone’s features, but I did discover the ability to change the screensaver. Pretty useless, but still cool.

What is your biggest technical fear?

Getting into advanced settings and messing something up that I don’t understand how to fix. For example, changing the CSS on my website.

What method or methods do you plan to use to manage it?

Methods 1 and 4.

What about technology are you grateful for?

I’m grateful that technology has blown open the writing market. Not too long ago, only a few people could open to be published since the trad pub gatekeepers were the only way. However, with the advent of the internet, the industry has been completely decentralized.

I’m also grateful for the extreme power of technology to accomplish things that past generations had to work much harder to do. Just imagine how many more books some great authors could have written if they had a laptop instead of a quill. Writing 1,000 words with dictation can take just a few minutes instead of a few hours by hand.

Which backup solutions do you use?

Google Photos and Microsoft OneDrive.

What password management system do you use?

Dashlane.
