HW #4 & #5

I’m catching up since I was sick last week! Everyone’s work has been really inspiring to see.

Changes:
- Updated lots of language that should have been updated after my last book release
- Fixed some broken links/podcast embeds
- Revised my About the Author page and Press Kit
- Added more info about my books

Need to do:
- Down the line, I’m hoping to release a middle grade sci-fi series. I’m considering how I might link out most effectively from my current website to either a new site entirely (most likely) or a subsection of my current site for this new series. I want to create a space that’s fun and engaging for young readers and clearly differentiated from my adult fiction.
- See if I can fix a couple of podcast interview embeds that are older—they don’t link out anymore, and I’m having trouble finding the episodes on the web.
- Consider adding another reader magnet. I’ve been thinking about a quiz or something else fun and engaging.
- Fix an issue with my Goodreads plugin so that more recent book covers are visible.
- Write new content for my blog. It’s been way too long!

Themes: Family, hope, and love can overcome even the darkest days.

Subject for Engaging with Tribe: I’ve been thinking about drafting a newsletter about AI because it’s both topical for my audience of sci-fi readers and informative in how writers/readers might utilize it. Would need to flesh out that idea a bit more.
I’m also in the process of creating new graphics for marketing my books and optimizing my Amazon book pages before I onboard a wave of new subscribers soon—hoping to send out a “get to know the author/the books” email that is both introductory for my new subscribers and still interesting for my existing subscribers.
