HW #5: Building a Rabid Tribe- Drew Clapp

I unfortunately can’t answer most of these questions. I don’t have a tribe to necessarily get feedback from being a new author. However, this was what I could do.

Homework:

• Ask!

  • Send out an email to five friends who know you well and ask them what comes to mind when they think of you.

• Send out an email to five acquaintances and ask them what comes to mind when they think of you.

• Send out an email to your newsletter list and ask them what comes to mind when they think of you.  I don’t have a newsletter or fans now to help answer this.

• Look at Amazon reviews.

• Ask yourself.

• What are your favorite movies?

  • Star Wars

  • Lord of the Rings

  • Eragon

  • ______________________________

  • ______________________________

    • What theme do you see running through all of them?

    • Insignificant people, tasked with a great burden who overcome fear and are victorious against all odds.

• Cut out a picture of your one tribe member (name him or her!) & put it on your monitor as a reminder of who you serve.  I don’t have a tribe yet to be able to do this.

• Send one encouraging email this week to your list (give yourself permission to be YOU, with your voice).

• Post to the group a subject you’re thinking of engaging with your tribe on and get feedback.

• Do research and follow someone who does this kind of shepherding well. Study what they do this week. Tell us all about it.
