HW #8 - Email - Jennifer Dyer

Hi!

My highest CTOR is 49%. I use some graphics to split up the sections, but maybe I’ve gone too cutesy? I was moving in a direction toward cozy fantasy, but I just signed a contract for two hacker novels, so I am planning to put out a prequel magnet in that world soon.

I feel the flavor of my emails needs to change a bit. Or maybe I just need to stop worrying so much about the design (ironic because design isn’t my thing) and just write more plain text. I’d love any input!

I’ve built from 32 to 686 subscribers through BookFunnel promotions since September 2023. I’m thinking of doing some other options that y’all have mentioned. Story Origin and BookSweeps (thank you @Madeleine Mozley for sharing about that!).

I don’t get a great engagement rate for responses when I do book giveaways in my emails (I have offered a couple times to send a signed book from another author in my genre). I’m going to try a sweatshirt giveaway this month to go with my book contract announcement. We will see!
