Curent state of the mailing list

I’ve had an email list for a few years now and have hovered around 80 subscribers that whole time. Currently, it is at 80 exactly. I ran a giveaway with KingSumo back in 2020 which was fairly successful, and most of my current subscribers came from that (though a lot of them are people I already knew).

My next step is to create a reader magnet. After that, I want to look into Bookfunnel group promos and take the Author Email Academy course.

Lead magnet

I don’t have a lead magnet right now. It’s been on my mind for a long time but never been a priority. The two main options are a short story that has been simmering for a few weeks, or the first chapter of my novella that will launch soon.

Best emails

80 subscribers probably isn’t enough to draw conclusive results from, and additionally, most of my emails were on MailerLite Classic, which is no longer accessible. But my newsletter from a couple of months ago in which I announced my new website and upcoming book release got some good engagement.
