Part 1 of Homework #7 - Changing a book's copy - Claudia

Part 1 of Homework #7 How I would change the back cover copy of “The Pride of Chanur,” by C. J. Cherryh.

No one at Meetpoint Station had ever seen a creature like the Outsider, naked-hided, blunt-toothed, and blunt-fingered. To Pyanfar Chanur, the spendidly maned hani captain of a merchant vessel, the creature presents an intriguing mix of weakness and intelligence. Little does she know, he holds the key to glory or ruin for any of the species at the station.

What begins as a simple rescue soon blossoms into a dangerous game of interstellar politics. Today’s ally can become tomorrow’s executioner, and methane breathers become volatile wild cards playing for stakes no oxy breather can even begin to understand. (End)

The main problem with the original, besides being way too long, is that it is written from the POV of the Outsider, while the book itself is written in the POV of Pyanfur Chanur, a female member of a lion-like species called the hani. I shortened it to just the most pertinent facts and changed it to Pyanfar’s POV.
