Where was he, and how did he get here?

Nineteen-year-old Bain Brinley has just inadvertently stepped into a time portal and has been deposited into a world like none he has ever seen before. He turned to go back through the portal and back to Zanchier to find his family after having spent several months alone in the Xantifal mountains, only to find the portal behind him gone. Now, Bain must face this strange new world without anyone else on whom he can depend. As he gazes out over the hot, dry, desert climate at the large pyramid shaped structures, he wasn't certain where to go, until a beautiful young woman befriends him. His time in the strange land known as Egypt was short lived as he was yet thrown into another portal and another strange, yet wonderful land. Here Bain yet again meets another young woman who is much different than anyone he had met before; and he is thrown into a strange yet thrilling life he never expected. Is he any closer to finding his family in this new world? What did the Creator want from Bain, and why? Would he be able to successfully navigate his new life? Will he find his way home?
