Cartoonist/Illustrator needed -- with a sense of humor...

I’m planning to re-release some short stories in one volume, silly, humorous stories about Fae living in the human world with malfunctioning magic and falling in love. I also plan to add new material in between the stories, something like the footnotes and side notes in the Discworld books and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In my stories, I mentioned a magical book called the Ether Lexicon, where the Fae can find information on anything and everything, so I’ll have entries from the Ether Lexicon explaining Fae society and different groups like The Ministry on Invisibility to Humans, etc.

See where this is going?

I would love to have some very simple, cartoonish sketches throughout the book, about the characters and events in the stories, and the Ether Lexicon Entries. Not a lot. Pen-and-ink, with maybe a watercolor wash. A color cover, giving a good idea of the silliness inside. And a journal to accompany the book, with the sketches in the corners of every other page. Maybe quotes from the book.

And I am hoping to do it as a Kickstarter, offering a hardbound as well as paperback version, in color. So if the Kickstarter succeeds, you’ll get paid a nice chunk of money up front … if it doesn’t, I’ll still publish, but you’ll only get paid a share of the royalties as sales are made. Willing to take that risk with me?

But it should be a FUN project, either way.
