Available: Copyediting & Proofreading

After proofreading for years as part of my day job, I decided to take several editing courses from The PEN Institute.  (PEN stands for Proofreaders and Editors Network.) Those courses affirmed what I knew and taught me what I didn’t know. Now I’m ready to start freelance editing.

Along the way, I learned of a subtype of editing called Book Indexing.  An indexer creates the Index that is often found at the back of a book, a reference for the reader to help her find all the most useful topics within the book.  When I learned about indexing, it was as if the scientist in me shook hands with the word nerd in me; the skies parted and sunshine burst forth; I think I heard angels singing.  I’m in!  So, I have started taking courses to learn to index and I cannot wait to offer that service.

For now, I will Proofread and Copyedit (some people call this Line Editing) nonfiction projects, blogposts, biblical papers, children’s books and more.  I can also offer fact checking and scripture checking, if desired.  Check out my webpage for more details and pricing.  https://nicoleomeara.blog/editing
