REVIEW: Audiobook Creation Process with ACX and Bryan Canter
In October, we released an episode with @Bryan Canter on How to Publish Your Audiobook Through ACX. As I was listening to the episode and preparing the blog post, I kept hearing @Thomas Umstattd Jr. urging me to make my seasonal Advent devotional an audiobook. I had initially resisted his advice because I didn’t think people would listen to a daily devotional, pause it, and return the next day. To that he said, “The pause button is literally the biggest button in the Audible player.”
What could I say?
Also, this year I “read” through the Bible with The Bible Recap daily podcast. In short, I loved it. I looked forward to listening every morning. When I had finished listening to all 365 daily recaps, I thought, “If I loved this daily devotional listening habit so much, perhaps I should offer my Advent devotional as a daily listening experience for others who might love it too.”
So when Bryan’s interview on ACX was in the queue, I got on his calendar. In my current circumstances, I have little time to experiment with platforms and tech tools, so the promise of Bryan walking me through the process was super appealing. I needed to do it right the first time, and I didn’t have time to research all the production tips and tech hiccups.
I signed up for his one-on-one ACX coaching, and I was NOT disappointed! His process is systematic, his guidance was thorough, and his resources were easy to reference. He was available for questions, but I only had a few because everything was so plainly presented.
When my title got stuck in the review process and threatened my aggressive timeline of getting it completed by December, he guided me through contacting ACX and told me exactly what to say and which contact form and email address to use.
Guess what? The next day it was magically out of the review process!
Last night, I got the email from ACX saying that Remarkable Advent was officially available on Audible! Many thanks to Thomas for pointing out that big ol’ pause button, and to Bryan for making the process so stress-free.
If creating an audiobook is in your plan for 2026, listen to his episode with Thomas, and get in touch with @Bryan Canter ! Highly recommend! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
