Convertkit clarification

In reviewing the info from BLB on email service comparisons, it was said that Convertkit’s free plan does not allow an onboarding sequence.

On their page, the features included in the free plan include “1 email sequence,” and when I hover over that it shows that would be a “Series of automated emails, like a series of welcome emails or an evergreen series of newsletters.”

I’m wondering if this is something they have recently added to the free plan, or if I am misunderstanding what this means (i.e., it wouldn’t really work for an onboarding sequence).

Does anyone have insight on this?
