Convertkit/Sparkloop Policy Confusion (and plea for help!)
I’m trying to set up my first email list and was going with a free Convertkit plan. However, in their policies they said that having a newsletter subscription automatically puts you underneath Sparkloop’s terms and services, which feature this section:
“During the term of this Agreement and for a period of ten (10) years after its expiration or termination (the “Exclusivity Period”), Users shall (i) purchase all services relating to, or in any way connected with, any campaign or related matchmaking advertising service in accordance with the terms of this Agreement between any Media Brands and Partners on the Services; and (ii) not directly or indirectly solicit, contact or engage any Media Brand or Partner, as applicable, for purposes of performing services similar to those provided hereunder.”
Does this mean that if I try a Convertkit plan I’m not allowed to switch email providers for the next ten years? As a young adult this seems impossibly long, unreasonable, and unrealistic. Sorry to torture you with anything of this length, but I could use advice. Badly.
