Do I actually need social media?
My only social media is Facebook, and I’m honestly sick of it. I only like using my personal Facebook for groups like the Realm Makers FB group, and I really hate posting on my author profile. I wanted to use my personal Facebook to announce my engagement this weekend, but now I’m strongly tempted to “ground” myself from Facebook for a month or so and stop posting (at least for now) on my author profile, which I did really infrequently anyway.
Does anyone have any advice on that? Is it bad for reach if I don’t post on my author profile except for book releases? Should I just reach out to my Facebook followers (who are 90% people I know personally) and ask them to join my newsletter instead?
With a lot going on in my personal life right now (even aside from getting engaged!), I’m tired of marketing that feels pointless to me. I’d rather stop any social media marketing, only send out newsletters for important things (about quarterly), and be able to focus more on other areas of my life. But I’m not sure if that’s a terrible idea since I have likely two book launches in the next calendar year.
