Email address porting

I have had “Susan@SusanJenkinsWriter.com” as my address that forwards to my Gmail account for years, but it was tied to my original Wordpress.com site. I have ported that to Wordpress.org with Bluehost and need to set that up again. I have “picked Thomas’s brain” on this but the info I see isn’t current and does mention that using the Bluehost option does not usually yield the best user experience. Suggestions please?
