Embedded form vs landing page

I understand that if I am able to pull users to my author website from a promotion or something similar, I should link them to a landing page to opt-in to get my lead magnet. But if I have organic traffic to my site, how will they know about the landing page? Should my embedded opt-in form link to the landing page? I’m unclear on how that is supposed to flow. Thanks!
