HELP! Newsletter Questions

I need some advice about my newsletter.

First of all, I haven’t sent an email since 2021 (I know, I know). I fell into this spiral of feeling like I had nothing to share and then just never got back to it. My excuses/explanations are that we had a baby in 2022, then put our house on the market and moved halfway across the country in 2023, then started new jobs and bought a new house, then had another baby in 2024… It’s been a busy time, and it’s definitely not going to get any less busy. So I’m not quite sure where to start at this point.

The facts:

1.) I use Mailerlite.

2.) I currently have 152 active subscribers. I gained those mostly from story origin promos, so I’m not sure how many will stick around now, even if I start sending regularly.

3.) I have no run a story origin promo or a newsletter swap since 2020.

My options as I see them:

1.) Start totally fresh. New email marketing system, new signup. Rebuild from the ground up.

2.) Send a few emails and see who responds from my current list. Maybe from now to the end of the year send an email every two weeks, then cut people from my list from there and begin the rebuilding process.

3.) Some combo of 1 and 2?

4.) Something else entirely that I’m not thinking of?

I do plan to do some rebranding on my newsletter and streamline my onboarding emails prior to trying to add new subscribers. I’m just really not sure what to do with the ones I currently have.
