How to make a community on Circle (or...anywhere)

Hey y’all! 💜 I’ve mentioned on a couple other people’s posts that I’m looking to create a little online group of Christian anthro fiction writers (writers with stories featuring anthropomorphic animals)—like Author Media, but smaller and much more niche. Right now, I’m very limited in my platform options (to the extent of my knowledge, anyway, which is minimal thus far).

I recently found out I could just create a new community for this on Circle (the server Author Media is on), however I am having difficulty navigating it as a creator. Also it seems like the free version is limited, both in tools and in the time you’re allowed to use it. And I have no money to spend on this project. XD

Do y’all have any tips for Circle—or, if you believe it’s not the best option, any other recommendations? I’ve thought about GroupMe, I’ve been recommended Wix and am uncertain, and I can’t navigate Discord to save my life. 🤣
