How to Make Money as an Author's Assistant: My Questions

@Thomas Umstattd Jr. (apologies for my vague question in the Novel Discussion post… I should have thought more about how to word it).

As someone who is not yet financially independent, and needs to discuss logistics of setting up a business as an author’s assistant with my parents, I have some logistical questions:

• suggested programs to set up and use for payment

• Thoughts on whether I should try and take any/all work I can get as opposed to the genres I write in

• Whether I should register as a business

• Whether I should form an LLC

• How to verify customers… because scammers seem to be multiplying like bunnies…

And If you have time to answer this…um… taxes….?
