Looking to build a platform from scratch.

Hello everyone!

I’m Alex Russo, and I’m new to this platform.

I’m going to be releasing my first novel this fall, but I need some advice and critiques on how I’m building my platform. I’d like to generate perennial sales for my books, especially my current WIP, but I’m not sure if I’m doing marketing the right way.

So far, I’m on YouTube, Substack, Blogger, and now, AuthorMedia.social. I mainly post on YouTube and Blogger, and have Substack at the ready for when I start a newsletter service. I’m going to be doing a website (and hopefully get some feedback on it here!).

My strategy thus far with growing my platform has just been putting out content and hoping for the best, along with in-person marketing by giving potential customers my Linktree and YouTube handle. While I have gotten some attention from my YouTube channel, I have not converted my viewers and subscribers into customers for my short stories and picture book.

Is this strategy okay? I’m just looking for some advice and guidance.

Thanks! 😺
