MailerLite updating plans - is it worth it?

Hi All,

I just received an email from MailerLite saying they’re updating pricing. :( As a Canadian, the exchange rate is brutal, so this change has me wondering if it’s worth staying with MailerLite. I’ve a goal of reaching 4K subscribers to my newsletter list within the next few months, but paying $742 CDN per year is too much imo (on their “cheap” plan).

I have all my automations and everything working beautifully, so I hate to start all over, but I really can’t justify that amount of money at the moment when I’m building my list and not making any money from writing at the moment.

I do see that Kit has up to 10K subscribers for free, but do you really own the list if you’re not paying for it (I had heard this somewhere that in order to truly own the list, you have to have a paid plan, otherwise it’s the email provider that owns it - can someone verify)?
