Marketing / advertising books during holiday season
Hello,
This is my first holiday season as a self-published author.
Objective: increase sales of my novel (revenue is lower priority).
I’ve had success in the past with reducing the price of my e-book version, then doing a sales campaign. But I’m contemplating a different strategy for the holidays:
1. Decrease my paperback price from 16.99 to 9.99
2. INCREASE my e-book price from 0.99 to 4.99
Assumptions/reasoning: People are way more likely to buy physical books as gifts, rather than e-books. And these gift-givers are going to be more likely to buy if they see a smaller price differential between the e-book and physical.
For those more experienced than I: what do you think of this strategy? Are my assumptions reasonable? Thanks!
