Pinterest ads?

I’ve never done paid ads before, but was on Pinterest the other day, and spotted a ton of book ads. (I usually access Pinterest from a device with an ad blocker, so hadn’t noticed them before.) Does anyone have experience with Pinterest ads? My target audience is most on Pinterest and Instagram for their social media, and I don’t have Instagram (and don’t want to get it right now), so I’m wondering if Pinterest ads might be worth a shot.
