Pinterest-insights

I know there is nothing like a newsletter list to connect with readers. But stirring awareness among new readers is something we all need to do. I am thinking about Pinterest and their “new algorithm,” and wanted to share the following with you.

1. https://insights.bookbub.com/authors-using-pinterest-for-book-marketing-inspiration/ (from 2020)

2. https://www.socialchamp.io/blog/pinterest-algorithm/ (from 2023)

Take-aways:

—The authors who are connecting with the younger readers are creating boards that reflect their view of the story world.

—Pinterest new algorithm rewards pinners who are active on Pinterest and who have/are recommending a valuable website.

What I’ve done anyway for myself is create (private board) character and world-based pins to use in my writing. What would be beneficial is to open these, or create public boards and TRANSFER these regularly.

When I was a girl, I liked to invite friends to my bedroom so they could see what was on my wall and shelves, my books, my dolls, my posters. What I had put in my room was a reflection of my heart, my loves, my interests. I think Pinterest is like the walls of our room or house. It’s inviting our readers to get a peek into our curated likes.
