Podcast software question

I’m considering a black friday deal:

Have any of you used this or something like this? Is it way too much (too much money, too much tech, too much learning curve, etc.) for a beginner?

I’d like to start a podcast, but the thought of the editing part paralyzes me. That’s why this is appealing.
