Question for those who've hosted IG Lives

I’ve hosted several IG Lives where I talk to other authors about their work. I’ve noticed at the beginning when I first go live and invite the guest to join, there’s a minute or two of awkwardness while inviting and waiting for them to join. (And then the finished reel starts with that awkward moment, as does it when I share that reel to stories so I really wish there were a way to edit that out.)

There’s no way to set up a private room with a guest and then push that live, is there? I wish it were possible to go live with both people on camera vs. inviting them. How are other IG Live hosts making that opening as seamless as possible?

Downloading the video for editing afterwards usually doesn’t work for me because it’s such a large file, so I’ve been having someone else screen record in real time from their own account. That’s not ideal but it does generate content that I can then edit into shorter reels and stories. I just wish there were a way to make the full video more polished.
