Recommended Newsletter Platforms

Hi all,

So I’m in a bit of a bind. I’m currently using Flodesk for my newsletters, etc, and while I’ve enjoyed it, it’s coming up for renewal in April at twice the cost I paid the first year (I got a 50% discount for my first year). It’s technically $35 per month, but has to be paid as an annual lump sum ($418). That’s more than I feel comfortable swallowing for a mailing list that hasn’t quite topped 100 subscribers.

However, I have some pretty major stuff coming up in the next few months. I’m hosting an email based course to help launch my debut novel. Course registration opens in Feb and the course itself starts in March. My novel launches April 1st. Needless to say, all of this requires a solid email program and I’m currently set up for all of that on Flodesk. That said, if I transfer right now, there are only 8 emails I need to reschedule and two sign-up forms I have to change across my website and socials. If I wait until April, I will have a LOT more content I have to reschedule, so if I’m going to make the switch, it makes the most sense to do it now.

Does anyone have any recommendations for email marketing services? I’ve tried Mailchimp and hated it. Flodesk was at least beautiful and easy to work with. I was considering Campaign Monitor but once I top 500 subscribers that would be even pricier than Flodesk, and I don’t want to have to switch programs again within a year.

Worst case, I could just stick with flodesk and swallow the cost for another year. But if there is a better alternative I’m all ears!
