Selling on Kit for Serialized Fiction

Thomas mentioned instead of substack he recommends kit for subscriptions. Does anyone on here have experience setting up payment and subscriptions for kit?

If so, What are your thoughts?

Also how long do you think a writer should write for free before switching to paid content?
