Simple Ways to Do Direct Sales from Website

Hello, writing friends!

I’d like to be able to set up a simple store on my website so I can sell signed copies of my book (as well as the ebook and audiobook) directly to readers. I’ll only have one book for sale to start, so I’m not ready to pay a monthly fee for something like Shopify. And I thought of WooCommerce, but I remember @Thomas Umstattd Jr. saying WooCommerce is a plugin for authors to avoid because it can really slow down websites.

Does anyone have recommendations for simple, inexpensive ways to run direct sales from a Wordpress website?

Thank you so much!
