About to publish my first book...thoughts wanted

I’m planning on releasing my first book in a few months. I want to see if there is anything I can do now as far as marketing goes? I have a monthly newsletter with less than 40 subscribers-mix of both people I know and people I don’t. Should I try to gain more followers before release (or wait until after), or anything other ideas? Thanks!
