AI Narrators for Fiction Audiobooks

In the last few weeks, two multi-published authors I follow mentioned they published at least one AI-narrated fiction audiobook. One is James Scott Bell who apparently got in an Audible experiment. The other is Susan May Warren who sells it on own website.

So my questions are to any of you have experience listening to or creating audiobooks with AI voices:

1. What is the reader reaction? I listen to only a few audiobooks, but I could see some readers being very opinionated about who and how an audiobook is narrated.

2. What genre do you have AI-narrator experience with? James Scott Bell and Susan May Warren don’t write much/any in the speculate genre. Perhaps AI narrators catch on faster certain genres.
