Amazon now translating to Italian & Portuguese

It’s amazing how I start getting emails from KDP “Your book is now available” before getting an email saying, “We’re now translating into Italian and Brazilian Portuguese.”

I set up auto-translate for the books in my catalogue that aren’t worth translating myself. Then when they appear I use Chat GPT to change the title of the book to whatever Amazon has translated, and replace the cover in KDP.

Surprisingly, I’m seeing sales of these books two or three per title, plus KU page reads. No reviews yet so it’s hard to judge the quality of the translations, but there are some titles where Amazon has rejected its own translation because they weren’t happy with the quality, so they must have some kind of QA process.
