Atticus versus Vellum

I am searching for a program where I can write while placing my work into an ebook or book format, so that when completed I can easily send to KDP and the like. Has anyone used Atticus? It appears to be more versatile than Vellum. I am completely new to the whole process, so just assuming one or the other will produce what I’m looking for. Your thoughts?
