Audible Exclusive or Wide... That is the question
I have a question for Indie authors. Is going wide worth the royalty hit on Amazon?
I am not particularly cash-strapped. My audiobook is paid for, and I would like as many people as possible to enjoy listening to it. I am more concerned about discoverability than actual profit, although I would like to recoup the cost for narration, if nothing else, to justify making my next audiobook.
So basically, I can publish wide. But I am asking, is it worth it? It appears that Spotify may pay pennies per single listen, and I am unsure how difficult it is to get into libraries.
Although, as a former homeschooler who depended on library books to stretch our curriculum budget, I would LOVE to make my book available in libraries.
Please let me know your experiences with distributing audiobooks outside the Amazon ecosystem.
