Best way to help my dad publish his books—should I be his publisher?
Edit: I think I figured it out! Thanks!
My dad has about 8 books (essay collection, history, reading collections from early school readers and more) that he wants me to format and publish in ebook and print. He is interested in reaching homeschoolers with the old readers and has most things for free on his websites, but has finally decided to let me help him get them up for sale. He doesn’t like Amazon and doesn’t use an e-reader, and I think he thinks people are going to download 400 page PDFs to print off to use at home (that would cost more than a print book and requires hole punching and a binder!). So things are a little complicated, but he is ready to hand it all over and let me take care of it all. I think he has great stuff, so I am hoping I can help reach people with it.
For the practical part, I am wondering what it would take to act as his publisher and use some of my 100-pack ISBNs and my KDP and D2D accounts rather than buy him ISBNs and set up accounts that I will need to manage, then get rights for in (I do not like to think about it but true) 10 years or so.
How do I become a little publisher?
