Bible version in audiobook
In my Christian devotional books, I have a lot of Bible quotes. Maybe half are from one version, but the other half are from a dozen others.
Stating the Bible version each time seems awkward and breaks the flow of the thoughts. If I was only quoting from one, I'd just mention that version at the end. So my question is, do I HAVE to state the version inline each time for copyright reasons? Or could I just state the verse reference only?
Secondly, many versions are likely unknown be listeners anyway, so just saying GNT, or AMP doesn't really help the list listener and may cause confusion.
And when quoting the verse, is there a style guide? For instance, “John chapter three verse sixteen.” Or “John three sixteen”. Or “John three sixteen to twenty”. Etc…is it preference? Must it be consistent throughout the recording?
