Copyedit Behind Schedule - What should I do
My soon-to-be independently published manuscript is in the final stages, but my copyeditor is nearly seven weeks behind when they said that would deliver the first pass of a two part copy edit. Obviously, I am a bit concerned. I’ve reached out to my editor three different times. Each time, the delivery date gets pushed back.
Is this normal for the industry? What is a wise, gracious, and professional thing to do? I don’t want to burn bridges, and I don’t want the quality of my manuscript to suffer if my editor is rushing to catch up.
Thoughts? Thanks for your help.
