Endorsers for historical fiction

I have had a blog since 2014 that has accrued about 50,000 words of nonfiction historical content about my main characters and their era (www.SusanBAnthonyFamily.com). Some time ago, I discovered by accident that a historical author cited my website in the back of his book. At first I was miffed that he never contacted me as a courtesy; in a way, he scooped the claim I intended to make as the foremost expert on Daniel Anthony.

I never contacted him about this, and he has never contacted me.

Now I’m thinking perhaps he would be a good person to endorse my historical novel about Daniel.

Can you see any downsides to doing this?
