Introduction

Hi Everyone!

I have been a member of this group for a while, but I don’t think I’ve ever introduced myself. While I’ve commented on one or two posts, I think, I’ve mostly been a lurker.

I am a first-time author with a finished manuscript, but not a published book. I sent it to a publisher in February and they promised to get back to me in April, but I haven’t heard a peep since. They have not responded to three email inquiries and there are no recent posts or activity on their website or Facebook page. So I’ve abandoned that possibility in favor of self-publishing.

The problem with that is that I can barely pay my bills so there is nothing extra to save for self-publishing costs. I’ve considered a Kickstarter and I did start a Ko-Fi page, but more work needs to be done.

That’s where I am now and I hope to get more involved in this group to learn from all of you. Thank you @Thomas Umstattd Jr. for making this available.
