Podcasting Audiobooks
After listening to Thomas’ episode a while back on podcasting audiobooks, I knew I wanted to experiment with it. My brother and I have spent the last 9 months or so recording my first audiobook, so after releasing it to Kickstarter backers and uploading it to retailers, I’ve finally set it up for podcasting.
I know one strategy was to release the audio version before the book to drum up interest, but I decided to release the final products after the fact. My book is long enough that I’ll be releasing 2-3 chapters weekly over the next 9 months, so I’m hoping as people find it and listen, they might just decide to purchase it rather than wait. And by the time the full audiobook is posted on all platforms, the second book will be out, so I’m hopeful it will always function as a permafree option leading in to the rest of the series.
It’s definitely an experiment, but if anyone is interested in following along to see how it goes, you can find it here: karynenorton.com/audio
Is anyone else doing this? Any strategies or suggestions I should be aware of?
