Title Advice
Hey, everybody, I’d appreciate your input on my front cover and title for my children’s picture book. The book is about the events of Palm Sunday, and I plan to publish it some time in February in order to give parents time to have it in hand before Palm Sunday, which is on April 13 this year. I was originally planning on titling it “The Grand Appearance.” This phrase is used on the first page, and I like the fact that it speaks of the Triumphal Entry, which is the subject of the book. However, I began to feel most children might not know what is meant by the word “appearance.” I tried “The Grand Procession,” which is used later in the book and is a bit more common word, but is not used on the first page. Then I tried “A Week Before Easter.” This is perhaps more marketable than either of the other two because of the association with Easter, but the book is not about Easter at all—only about Palm Sunday. On this third choice, I also felt it might bring up thoughts of “The Night Before Christmas,” which would be a good association. All comments about the title or the cover in general are appreciated.
