BEWARE!! Kickstarter scam (and a sophisticated one!!)

This evening I received an email- screenshot below:

Then, ONE MINUTE LATER, I got this one:

NEVER, never do what I then did. I booted a secure machine I use for such things. Then I clicked the Kickstarter link that I was instructed to click on to “restore full access”, and it took me here:

Note the URL. When clicking the green “update” button it took me here:

Hmmmm….I need to input credit card info to “verify my identity”???

I went back to the original email and clicked where it says “view on Kickstarter”. It took me here:

Looks like my message board- even shows me logged in on Kickstarter in the top right, and now note that the URL IS Kickstarter.

But note that the sender is “Kickstarter staff” joined June 2013 and backed 6 projects. A KS user, not a KS official.

But that’s not my messages inbox, it’s a spoofed lookalike. This is my message inbox. No such message resides there.:

Watch out for this, because apparently this scammer has been around for 13 years. I sent an urgent message to KS . .. but as of yet no response. @Thomas Umstattd Jr. any additional wisdom you’d like to add? This scam would be an easy one to fall for.
