Is this a new scam?

I had someone contact me via email on my website telling me how much they We're interested in my first book Earth in the peregrination series. Now if they've read about it and they know how to find It already, why would they ask me for an Amazon link?

This may be a stupid question but, does anyone know if there's a way stammers can rip-off our Amazon links? Or could they genuinely want the link?

With all the requests that I get through my email from promoters, and with all the scams out there, I don't know who or what to trust or believe.
